Small Changes for a More Eco-Friendly Kitchen

Sustainability doesn’t have to mean a total lifestyle overhaul; often, the most significant impact comes from small, repeatable changes in the heart of the home: the kitchen. Reducing waste starts with a shift in mindset from “disposable” to “durable.” Swapping paper towels for microfiber cloths and replacing plastic wrap with beeswax wraps can significantly reduce a household’s weekly trash output.

Another high-impact change is “Root-to-Stem” cooking. Many parts of vegetables we throw away—like broccoli stalks or carrot tops—are perfectly edible and nutritious. Composting organic waste is another way to keep food scraps out of landfills, where they produce methane. By making these small adjustments, you not only reduce your environmental footprint but often save money on groceries and household supplies in the long run.
